Tanner Out – Harris In at WAKA

A few weeks ago it was reported that Matt Tanner was leaving and that WAKA was advertising his position. Then he changed his mind and decided to stay. The ad disappeared and I thought that was the end of that. Apparently it wasn’t. Matt is no longer with WAKA and has been replaced by Micah Harris (no relation to myself).
Micah joins WAKA from KTEN, an NBC affiliate in North Texas/South Oklahoma. He is originally from Birmingham.
No word yet on where Matt is now.
Side note to this article…Jenna Deery upped to weekend anchor and WAKA is now long for a general assignment reporter to replace her.

So, he did leave after all. This is really odd how it turned out.
At least the station is providing us with some drama, unlike CBS.
They didn’t even inform us of someone new joing the team or anything..just go on and act like Micah’s been there before.
according to face book, matt was FIRED on monday. wonder what he did to get himself fired. people leave waka not the other way around, can any1 remember the last time some1 was fired from 8?
Chris Bailey was fired in March…
I don’t have a way to contact Matt personally to find out what happened…in all truth he might not want to say so that he can find a new job easier. I imagine though that once WAKA knew he was looking for a new position they decided it was time to move on.

He’s worked there for a while, even when he was working for WAKA I think. Atleast he had a back-up plan….nice guy

Trust me, if you knew Matt personally, you’d understand. I don’t think he was fired. His contract with the station was not renewed, butthat doesn’t mean he was fired. Matt tends to be pompous and think people should kiss the ground he walks on. He’s a hard person to be around.
