ABC 32 News?
So we have been talking and promising that ABC 32 will be delivering a 30 minute newscast in HD starting like 3 months ago. Well, here is the latest: A test news cast was done last night and more are planned for the rest of this week. If all goes well next Monday, June 14, would be the earliest date we will see the new newscast. Don’t expect a lot of hoopla from ABC 32 about it though…they still have kinks to work out before they start promoting the fire out of it. If you are up late at night this week, check out ABC 32 around the 3am hour and you may catch an airing of one of the test runs.
Also, if you watch the HD version of ABC 32 regularly you may have noticed that some of their syndicated programs have been switched to HD now…something not even WAKA or WSFA has done. A couple examples: Maury, Legend of the Seeker, Law & Order SVU.
I imagine as soon as the ABC 32 newscast gets its feet under itself we will see WAKA’s news production disappear from the CW and be replaced by their own in-house CW newscast from the ABC 32 studio.

Is Wednesday the launch date for WBMM’s newscast too?
No. WAKA will continue to produce the WB news at 9 for now. In a few months that could change though.
Watched the newscast last night. Vast improvement in content and picture quality. Sports was nearly repeated twice and weather graphics need to be made widescreen but all-in-all I was impressed. Are the studio shots local or still being outsourced? Sport links looked like they were coming from somewhere else. I like the zooming name graphics and logo wipes as well.

The newscast is awesome!!! If they add an early evening (6/6:30) newscast, that would be perfect.
