Best of Montgomery Media Update #2
I just checked again to see how the voting is going on there has been some big changes! If you know any of the people that in these categories, you might tell them that they need to be rallying some support so that they can win!
Best Female TV Anchor – With 112 votes cast…it’s still between Sally Pitts (WSFA) and Steffanie Hicks (WAKA).
Best Local TV Show – With 67 votes cast, Good Morning Montgomery (WNCF) has a good lead still.
Best Male TV Anchor – With 86 votes cast, Bob Howell (WSFA) is run away leader now.
Best Meteorologist – With 126 votes cast, Kait Parker (WAKA) has taken over the lead by a few votes over Rich Thomas (WSFA).
Best TV Sports Anchor/Reporter – With 138 votes cast, Adam Bagni (WNCF) has a strong lead over Jeff Shearer (WSFA) still.
Best TV Reporter – With 121 votes cast, Morgan Hightower (WNCF) is the leader.
Best TV News Cast - With 73 votes cast, WSFA News at 6 has taken the lead over Montgomery’s newest newscast ABC 32 (WNCF) News at 10.
Best TV Station – With 70 votes cast, WSFA has a strong lead.
Best Radio Station – With 78 votes cast, it is still spread out over several stations, but News Talk 107.9 (WMRK) is in 1st at this moment with Montgomery’s newest radio station 104.9 The Gump closing in.
Best Talk Radio Host – Our most popular category so far with 332 votes cast, Greg Budell (WMRK) is in a commanding lead over Kevin Elkins (WLWI-AM) and Roberta Franklin (WAPZ).
Best Radio Morning Show – With 197 votes cast, Greg Budell (WQKS) has a good lead over Kevin Elkins (WLWI-AM).
Best Radio/TV Ownership – With 64 votes, Bluewater appears to be the most popular place to get your check signed at.

the TV polls seems ok, but on the radio side it just seems this poll is a bit biased too much in favor of Bluewater.
then again, i do believe this entire site has been a bit biased towards bluewater.

Jack – I don’t know what you mean. Everyone has the same opportunity to vote. I know for fact that Budell has brought the poll up on his show…therefore his numbers look better. If others wanted to do the same…I am sure there might be a different story on the numbers.
As for the bias, I only put on the site the information that is given to me and can be confirmed. I have great reliable sources at Bluewater who understand the value of free promotion to a loyal audience…aka people who come to this site like radio and tv. They are a radio station…why not make sure that we stay in the loop. I have contacts at almost every station in town and I rely on them, but truthfully, the site is only as good as the information that people are willing to provide.
So with that in mind…station management, send me an email when you have news that you know people want to know!

I agree. We’re voting for a “Best” so how about a “Worst”. I’d vote Tonya Terry as “Worst Anchor” easily. That’d give us a shot at voting for Eileen Jones as “Worst Reporter”, too.
Seriously, it’s nice to hear people respond to “Best”, but it could be useful to know which we think is “Worst”.

I would think that the person with the least amount of votes could be assumed as the “worst” or as the “least popular”. Unfortunately that is the by product of choosing who the best is.
With respect, I disagree. Some of those not receiving votes may not necessarily be the “Worst” because they simply have not had the exposure that others have. I know some of the new ABC32 news crew have not had the exposure that other channels’s crews have and some Radio hosts I have not even heard of before this poll. If I haven’t heard of them, I certainly wouldn’t vote for them. That doesn’t make them the “Worst”. That doesn’t even make them necessarily the “Least Popular”.
