WBIH Changing Formats
MTR has just learned that WBIH (29-1) plans to change formats to Christian programming. This rumor is unconfirmed but we think the source is reliable. WBIH has never really had any interesting programming. It will be interesting to see how a Christian format will work since we already have TBN and Frazier. Can this market support another Christian station?
We’re hopeful this new format will bring more changes to WBIH like an affiliate, better programming, sub-channels and high definition.
Tell us what you think. Please, no negative commenting on any religion but we do want to know if you think the content will work in Montgomery.
As always, we’ll update you when we have more details.

From what I also been told, by Mr. Charles Meyers of Memphis Based Flinn Broadcasting, this station is now looking for local Churches to broadcast on here too.
I believe this station will be more of a Selma player than anything else, since this community has never had a Christian based TV station of its own.
I’m excited and stoked over this new presentation.
I believe if this station is programmed right and carries programs that has mass appeal, this new presentation will work out.
I’m still trying to find out more about the new changes and will keep you posted. Hope to hear from the head ups real soon. I’m now in works in getting a spot on their new presentation. If it works out, I’ll be reading from the Bible Tracts that I write and produce.
If you need a copy of the tracts, just shoot me an E-Mail at peopleforjesus@charter.net and tell me where to send them. I’ll be glad to do it. Won’t cost you anything to get them.
You can also get them at The Faith Rescue Mission Store on South Blvd., in Montgomery and all over Selma. Make sure that you get them. You’ll be glad that you did it.
While I continue to wait to hear from the head ups, thought you might want to check out their current program guide. I was able to extract it from this link: http://www.charter.net/tv/channel_page.php?channel_id=4950585149505453&listings_day=2010-08-19#tv_channel_top
This program guide covers the next few days of their programming. From what I’m seeing, the Christian programming is taking center stage on here. The informercials are now slowly being phased out.
Stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted on their new presentation.
29 used to be a Christian station about five years back. They used to show Christian music videos for the now-defunct “Praise TV” channel.
I remember that. The videos they carried were awesome. Wish Praise was still on the air. Miss them very much.
I agree. My favorite videos were the ones by Delirious?, Newsboys, Tait and Audio Adrenaline (among others).
