Dish Adds Sony HD But Officially Drops Fox Sports, FX and Nat Geo SD & HD

Well, it’s official.  The standard and high-def versions of Fox Sports South, FX and National Geographic are gone from Dish.  From what I’ve read, Fox may be the culprit here though.  They seem to be asking too much for the channels.  However, Dish has a pretty bad track record when it comes to contract disputes.

There is good news though.  Sony Movie Channel is now live on channel 386 for HD Platinum subscribers.  Even better, Dish has made a peace offering with subscribers by providing the multi sport pack, HD Net Movies and HD Theater free until these lost channels return.

My tolerance for Dish is being tested.  Time to re-think DirecTV.

I forgot to mention that SportSouth is also gone. I thought it was owned by Turner, not Fox. So we lost FoxSports South and Sportsouth.

My patients was tested when they dropped the Voom network. The ONLY reason I’m still with Dish is the HD DVR. It’s the best on the market.
