New WSFA Meteorologist is…

WSFA’s new Meteorologist is Jeff Jumper from Raycom station KPLC in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Jeff will present the 9pm weather 3 nights a week plus handle the weekend duties.  He will also report during the week on science, lifestyle and weather stories and will continue his “Does It Work” segments that he started at KPLC which have already been airing at WSFA on occasion as part of the Raycom Network.

Jeff is a graduate of Penn State, where Allyson Rae was at also though Jeff was ahead of her in school.  Before KPLC, Jeff also worked at WBRE in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

In other news, Dan Atkinson will continue with WSFA is a slightly smaller role, now only appearing on Sunday mornings edition of Today in Alabama and fill in duties.

The exact start date has not been determined but will be definitely be in the month of November.

    I am glad the Gump will be hosting the “Does It Work” segments, but WSFA really needs a female meteorologist to round out the team.
