Dish Network Preview
So recently I received a picture message from my wife on my phone. On it was a picture of a television set. I could barely make out the bug in the lower right corner…but sure enough it was the Hallmark Channel. Most of you don’t know my wife, but I have listened to her complain about the Hallmark Channel disappearing for the past year. Charter used to have it in their standard tier, but it was moved up to a higher package that I was unwilling to pay for. This past summer we switched to Dish and to get it we would have to buy another package that again I was unwilling to pay for. With this picture message that my wife sent me, I received a text shortly after that says “We have it!! 
”. Two emotions hit me instantly…I was glad that we had a TV channel that could bring her so much joy and then more importantly why do we have the Hallmark Channel? I knew I didn’t order it. Remember I am cheap.
So I started investigating because being the pessimist that I tend to be, my suspicions were high that we would be paying for this. After a little digging I found out that it is basically a trick that Dish Network does disguised as a good will gesture. Basically they give you a few channels for a month, and then take them away leaving your wife crying and mad because her husband won’t pay the ransom that Dish demands to provide those channels. What’s worse…I, along with her, discovered there were several other channels available now through January 5…all targeted at women. Lifetime Movie Network, Hallmark, Hallmark Movie, WE and The Hub.
Needless to say I am declaring a curse on Dish for them giving and then taking away along with at the same time writing them a thank you note for providing hours of holiday family friendly movies for free. Darn you Dish Network.

Dish does free previews every month. Some time they are targeted at women, sometimes men and sometimes children. Go to the AT250 like me and you won’t have this problem
