WIYC (Weather Nation) In HD? (With Update)
It appears that Montgomery has a new HD local station. WIYC (fomerly The Country Network, now Weather Nation) is in HD 1080i 16×9 with dolby digital. I was first tipped off by Dish Network’s uplink report today. See it here. WIYC HD was uplinked but not available. (We’ll update you as soon as it goes live) I tuned to WIYC through my antenna and, sure enough, Weather Nation was on in HD on channel 48-1. I know a lot of people want TCN back and aren’t excited about Weather Nation but it is a new HD local channel none-the-less. Gone completely from WIYC is TCN as a sub channel. Dish may actually beat the local cable providers to the punch adding WIYC HD. Hopefully, it will be picked up by your provider soon. Check it out and tell us what you think.

Update: WIYC HD is now live on Brighthouse channel 236 and DirecTV channel 67.

I did a channel scan and couldn’t pick it up from Wetumpka. I’ll try from a Montgomery location and see if it’s there.
